Southport’s Big Blues Festival is Back!

Southport’s Big Blues Festival is Back!

This October get ready to welcome the Blues line-up of the year – here at The Atkinson, Sefton’s home of music!

On stage this year we have; Mike Sanchez and his Band, Wille and the Bandits, The Jar Family, LaVendore Rogue and Chris Bevington & Friends. Plus last year’s Little Acoustic Stage winner – Benjamin Bassford, who opens up for Friday’s  headliner Revolutionaires!

The Big Blues Fest is only in its third year but year on year we raise our profile as one of the key blues festivals in the UK. This year we would like ask local pubs and clubs that are programming gigs across the 2 days Friday 6-Saturday 7 October to let us know so we can also promote them on our website and start to create a town-wide feel to the festival.

Emma Lloyd, Principal Manager Programmes at The Atkinson said:

“Every year we are thrilled by the feedback we receive and the festival cannot come round quick enough for us – everyone that attends is always in great spirits and we love sharing the weekend with them!

This festival has the capacity to become one of the very best in the UK and the best way to do this, is for it to become a town-wide festival, engaging with pubs, bars and hotels that have gigs under the blues banner. The more people we can attract into the town, to spend the night, and to eat in the many top quality restaurants, the better.”

If you would like to promote your event as part of the Big Blues Festival fringe – please email details to marketing@theatkinson.co.uk Please note: the event must be blues, rhythm or rock n’roll and there must be a link to information included in the email.

Once again the festival would like to thank its fantastic sponsors Blues Matters Magazine who are returning to programme the free Little Blues Acoustic Stage in the foyer.

Big Blues Festival comes to The Atkinson on Friday 6 – Saturday 7 October. Gig tickets for the headliners The Revolutionaires (£15) and Mike Sanchez and his Band (£18) are availableEarly bird festival tickets are £40 until end of June (£48 from 1 July onwards).

If you buy a festival ticket to can also get a ticket to The Stumble (25 November) for £10 until the Early Bird ticket offer finishes on 30 June. That’s a lot of Blues for your money!
