The Atkinson is proud to be co-curating this year’s History Tent at Aintree Racecourse over the Grand National weekend. This year’s history tent exhibition celebrates the achievements of Red Rum whose record breaking three Grand National wins has never been beaten. This year marks the 40th anniversary of his third historic win and objects and memories from Sefton residents have been brought together to commemorate the life of this remarkable horse. As well as video testimonies, new objects recently donated to The Atkinson will be displayed for the first time in celebration of ‘the horse who saved the national’
