Make More Than Memories is a schools engagement programme linked to the Sefton Coastal Path that will work with schools and communities across Sefton.  It will be delivered by Emma Bush of Create the Change in partnership with The Atkinson and is part of a larger programme of creative activities called The Footprint Project, funded by The Sefton Coast Landscape Partnership. As part of this project participants will engage in a range of land based art experiences along different sections of the Sefton coastline.

This is a FREE project for all schools. Places are limited.

The day will consist of:

A.M –  In The Atkinson exploring the collection & the  ‘Sea Change’ Exhibition

P.M – Sefton coastal path taking part in  practical art activities

Followed by a half day free Artist led workshop for a class on the Sefton Coast as part of the Coastal Festival, creating ephemeral art within the landscape, exploring the natural elements found in the landscape.

Scheme of work is linked to the new National Curriculum for Art & Design -KS 1, 2, 3 and 4 linked to ephemeral, land based and walking art. Photos of the completed art work will be featured in the end-of-year presentation at The Atkinson

Emma Bush will deliver the CPD and Workshops, she  is a qualified Secondary Art and Design Teacher, and worked as the Creative and Cultural Learning Manger in Education at Knowsley MBC for 9 years. Emma set up Create the Change in 2011 and has since been delivering creative support and services to schools, museums and galleries, Curious Minds (the Bridge organisation for the North West) and Edge Hill and Hope University Education Faculties, as well working as a practising Artist.
