A Festive Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers

A Festive Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of celebrating our incredible volunteers at their Christmas party! It was a joyous evening filled with laughter, a fun quiz, delicious food, and a few festive tipples—an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable achievements of 2024.

This year, our volunteers played an essential role in the day-to-day operations of The Atkinson. Once again, they went above and beyond, contributing their time and energy to a wide range of tasks. From caring for collections to welcoming visitors, assisting with The Sefton Open, and invigilating our galleries, their hard work has not gone unnoticed by staff and visitors alike.

In addition to their regular contributions, our volunteers took on new and exciting challenges this year. They developed the Arty Adventurers free activity booklet, bringing creative fun to families throughout the summer. They also transcribed audio descriptive scripts, making artworks in our collection more accessible for blind and visually impaired visitors—a fantastic step forward in inclusion.

We also took a moment to toast to our wonderful volunteer Dave, who sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago. Dave was a brilliant asset to our volunteer team, always generous with his time and talent. His contributions made a lasting impact, and he will be deeply missed by everyone at The Atkinson.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated, talented, and passionate individuals on our team. Thank you for everything you do to support The Atkinson. Here’s to another amazing year ahead!
