Q: Where are all the collections from The Atkinson Art Gallery, Botanic Gardens Museum and Bootle Museum and Art Gallery.

A: All of the collections are on site here at The Atkinson, either on display or in our store rooms. If you want to see anything in the collection which is not on display you can make an appointment to view it with our Museum and Galley team.

Q: How much does it cost to enter the museum?

A: The museum and all of the temporary exhibitions in the galleries are completely FREE.

Q: Why is photography forbidden in certain exhibitions?

A: We don’t own all the objects and artworks we display. Sometimes the owners of the works place restrictions on whether they can be photographed or not; often this is due to issues relating to breach of copyright. Where this is the case regrettably we cannot allow visitors to take pictures in the gallery, although we endeavour to allow photography as often as we can.

Q: Why can’t I get through on the phone?

A: Please note there are times when our phone lines are very busy. You can purchase tickets for any of our shows online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
