Laugh Out Loud July

On the first Saturday of every month the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club offer a raucous evening of entertainment, bringing the best live stand-up to Southport!

This month features Britain’s Got Talent runner up Robert White, skillful storyteller Danny Deegan and top stand-up comedian Mike Milligan.

Hosted by comedian Damion Larkin, who will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect. There are no genuine comparisons to this man. He is a versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more.

All line ups are subject to change, but don’t worry, we’ll only replace them with someone twice as funny.

Robert White

Robert White is one of a kind. You may recognise him from Britain’s Got Talent 2018 (ITV) coming runner up after wooing the nation with his randomly unique act. He describes himself as the worlds best aspergers, gay, dyslexic, cross-lateral, web-toed comedian. All this makes stand-up the perfect career choice! Nevertheless, before discovering life as a comic he’s had an astonishing total of 67 jobs even including a stint as an organ player. Gags aplenty and a unique outlook on life make him a superb, consistently funny and inventive comedian. With talent to burn he’s also a super skilful musician, weaving catchy and compelling tunes into his hilarious act.

Known for his brilliant timing and performance style, Robert’s chaotic stage presence, improvisational skills and delivery won him the 2010 Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality. In the same year, he wrote one of Dave’s Top Ten Jokes of The Fringe.

Since he first came onto the stand-up scene, as a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire Competition, Robert has gone from strength to strength. He is now a sought-after act who regularly performs across the country and internationally. His off the wall jokes, improvisatory songs, barely-believable stories and interactive music stand him far apart from the usual comedy available nationwide.

Robert starred on the UK’s biggest television talent competition Britains Got Talent 2018 with typically chaotic but hilarious performances. The best acts of the series go through to a week of live shows, with the winner performing at the Royal Variety Show, and Robert thew runner up of the whole competition is now revelling in his success and set to tour the country with international fame beckoning. BGT is the UK’s biggest television talent competition, regularly bringing in 15 to 17 million viewers. Robert’s haphazard stage presence, improvisational skills and delivery won over the judges on the very first episode of the show, and the semi finals – propelling him into the final and second place.

Mike Milligan

Mike Milligan used to earn his keep as a teacher in Newcastle and so knows a thing or two about ‘audience interaction’. However this Geordie quickly found classrooms weren’t the best place to share his sharp, witty banter! Now firmly established as a top stand-up comedian, Mike’s teaching days are on summer vacation indefinitely.

Having proudly held the helm as resident compere at Newcastle’s Hyena Comedy Cafe, which was acclaimed as ‘ One of the top ten comedy clubs in the country’ (Daily Telegraph), Mike is well versed in entertaining audiences from the toughest gigs, to after dinner speaking and corporate shows; providing a successful blend of material, delivery and audience interaction that make his one the best comics in the UK.
