Laugh Out Loud December

On the first Saturday of every month the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club offer a raucous evening of entertainment, bringing the best live stand-up to Southport!

This month features one of the country’s premier comics Danny McLoughlin, Anthony King brings his delightfully devilish sense of humour and One Man Variety Show Jack Gleadow completes the comedy tripple bill.

Hosted by face of elasticity MC Tom Green.

All line ups are subject to change, but don’t worry, we’ll only replace them with someone twice as funny.

Danny McLoughlin

A highly regarded MC and sought after name on any circuit bill, Danny regularly performs at the UK’s biggest clubs including: The Comedy Store, The Glee clubs and Komedia, music festivals including Latitude & Leeds and is a regular MC for the coveted lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Awards Galas. Gracing our small screens Danny has also appeared on ‘One Night Stand’ for Channel Dave and the ‘Premier League Show’ for BBC Two and recently took to the radio waves to co-host one of Jason Manford’s Sunday morning shows for Absolute Radio. Most recently Danny returned from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he debuted his new show, ‘01/02’ to packed out rooms throughout the month long run.

“Danny McLoughlin is a class act His innate comic timing, insightful digressions and ability to think on his feet puts him alongside the most talented and genuinely funny comedians.” Three Weeks

Anthony King

An outwardly normal looking bloke with a delightfully devilish sense of humour: Droll, deadpan and yet somehow warm and loveable. His  masterful timing and delivery of a seemingly endless stream of one-liners combine to make him one of the most polished performers on the circuit. He’s an award winning act who travelled the world with his gags. After being nominated for Best New Show at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival one year, King scooped two awards in another. He wow-ed the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and took the roof off major comedy clubs across the UK and beyond, including performances in the Netherlands, Dubai, Majorca, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Sparse, efficient, unexpected – and often with a delicious twinge of underlying nastiness – each one is an elegant example of perfect joke construction….”  Chortle

Jack Gleadow

One Man Variety Show with the use of  sounds, stories, jokes and a scooter! Hull comedian Jack Gleadow was previously named International Young Magician in 2013 but gave up magic to concentrate on stand-up. The multi-talented performer has since also been named Hull Comedian of the Year and Hilarity Bites New Comedian of the Year. Gleadow has won the Amused Moose National New Comic Award in Edinburgh and the New Comedian Of the Year Final at the Great Yorkshire Fringe.

MC for the evening Thomas Green

A UK based Australian Stand Up Comedian and actor with an interesting plot twist: he’s a supply teacher in the UK. Green is known for having a face of elasticity, a unique story-telling style and a highly energetic stage presence. Green is not limited to the stage however, having hosted both breakfast and drive radio shows across 7 years on Fresh 92.7 in Adelaide, South Australia. During this time his show ’Tom and Shenay’ (later to be ‘Tom Green and Friends’) developed a following, with the popular segment ‘Teacher Tom’ becoming a fan favourite, and interviews with the likes of Zac Efron, John Jarratt and Tinie Tempah thrilled listenership.

Green has also found himself in front of the camera, having landed roles on screen that have seen him work with the likes of actors David Wenham and Emily Watson (Oranges and Sunshine, 2009), director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek 2, 2013), and with music sensations Hilltop Hoods (2012) when he was cast as the male lead in their music video for hit single ‘Shredding the Balloon’. He has also been cast in numerous commercials, along with being cast in the ABC mini-series ‘Anzac Girls’ (2014) as ‘Captain Alcorn’. He has made a few appearances with the popular YouTubers RackaRacka, as Ned Stark/Boromir in ‘Lord of the Rings vs Game of Thrones’ (2014), ‘Spoiler Rage’ (2015), and as Daryl in ‘The Walking Dead vs The Last of Us’ (2015).

“It is a testament to Green’s confidence and easy ability to make us laugh when he opens himself up so freely to spontaneity and open dialogue with his audience.”  Theatre Press
