Laugh Out Loud November

On the first Saturday of every month the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club offer a raucous evening of entertainment, bringing the best live stand-up to Southport!

This month features one of the leading lights of Scottish comedy Raymond Mearns, Britain’s only goth, lesbian, transsexual comedian Bethany Black and multi-award winning comedian Matt Rees

Hosted by comedian Damion Larkin, who will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect. There are no genuine comparisons to this man. He is a versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more.

All line ups are subject to change, but don’t worry, we’ll only replace them with someone twice as funny.

Raymond Mearns

One of the leading lights of Scottish comedy. His list of TV and film credits is as long as your arm  (including BBC2’s “Rab C Nesbitt”) and he’s regarded not only as one of the top acts in Scotland but also in the UK comedy industry as a whole. He holds the prestigious honour of having been chosen to represent Glagsow at the both the New York Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Raymond  even went on tour with Pete Doherty doing support slots  until Doherty was jailed! He also has a deserved reputation for being one of the few comedians around who is just as funny when making stuff up off the top of his head as he is when doing material. As a result, we’re lucky he’s agreed to come and perform for us as he is in hot demand around the globe!

“A Genuine Improvisational Genius” Frankie Boyle

Bethany Black

Britain’s only goth, lesbian, transsexual comedian. Decidedly dark and deliciously different – a one way ticket to a world you never knew existed. Despite being ‘unique’ she’s warm, chatty and has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy. She provides a sarcastic and dark view of the world’s taboo subjects in a neat PVC clad package. Her TV credits are impressive as she plays Helen Brears in Cucumber (Channel 4) and she also starred as 474 in the ninth episode of the ninth season of Doctor Who (BBC).

“Bethany Black should prepare for world domination” Bruce Dessau

Matt Rees

Multi-award winning comedian Matt Rees has generated a huge buzz on the circuit with his unique brand of well-crafted gags and acerbic delivery earning him high praise from audiences and critics alike.

Sparkling routines, distinctive voice and funny” Chortle
