Our fifth annual Love Folk Festival returns to Southport for a weekend long celebration featuring new, upcoming and traditional folk music. Join us at The Atkinson for the little festival with the big heart and spend the most romantic weekend of the year dancing, singing, drinking, eating and generally loving folk!

Martin & Eliza Carthy

The good Doctor Martin Carthy and his twice Mercury nominated daughter Eliza Carthy, join forces to perform songs from their first duo album ever, a CD of traditional material entitled THE ELEPHANT, released in May 2014 on Topic Records.

Martin is a legendary ballad singer and guitarist who has influenced a generations of artists, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, while Eliza has been twice-nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and a multiple-award winner at the BBC Radio Two Folk awards.

Faustus

Faustus is an English tradition folk trio, nominated in the 2009 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, featuring three of the leading lights of their generation of folk artists: Benji Kirkpatrick (Seth Lakeman Band, Bellowhead), Saul Rose (Waterson:Carthy, Whapweazel) and Paul Sartin (Bellowhead, Belshazzar’s Feast). Rooted deeply in the English tradition, in 2007 they received a 75th Anniversary Award from the English Folk Dance and Song Society.

For gigs taking place in the studio, there is unreserved seating. Tables and chairs are available on the lower level at a first come first serve basis, balcony seats are also available. Seat numbers selected when buying your tickets refers to the Theatre and two headline acts.

*Please note our booking fee is £1 per ticket for all purchases made online or by phone. There are times when our phone lines become very busy, you can purchase tickets for any of our shows online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Festival tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
