Reading stories and singing popular rhymes together at Southport Library
To celebrate the arrival of the ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ sculpture trail across Southport, the theme this week is teddy bears! Why not take your own teddies along to join in the fun?!
Explore stories through rhyme and help develop your child’s language and communication skills while meeting other parents and carers. Together with our friendly librarians, babies and under-fives will enjoy learning new songs, dancing, and making friends.
Story & Rhyme Time sessions take place once a week on a Wednesday at 11:30am.
- Admission is free.
- Ages 0-4. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Approximately 45 minutes.
- Places are limited.
- No booking required but places are on a first come first served basis.
Children’s Library
Southport Library’s showpiece is the extended children’s section with room for activities and events, which includes a ship, specially made for the library, named after Kathleen – a real fishing boat built in Southport around 1900. There is also a teenage area. The space is family friendly with a number of reading, singing and arts and crafts activities taking place in the area.
