The Resonant Rogues

The Resonant Rogues craft fresh songs from a variety of vintage folk styles, featuring vocal harmonies accompanied by accordion, guitar, banjo, fiddle, and upright bass. With a passion for folk music that spans continents and oceans, the band is led by partners Sparrow and Keith J. Smith. The pair met in Asheville in the Autumn of 2012, and their instant spark lit a blaze that could not be contained. Since then, they have dedicated their lives to crafting and sharing their music, touring extensively around the world. The Rogues weave the threads of European, Middle Eastern, and American folk music together into a beautiful tapestry that simultaneously showcases tradition and innovation.

The core members of Resonant Rogues, Sparrow and Keith J. Smith, boast an amazing array of talents and musical abilities. In Sparrow’s case that includes playing the accordion, banjo, viola, violin, piano, and musical saw. She has been belly dancing since 2003 and attended the Circus Centre in San Francisco. Keith began traveling around the US, hopping freight trains, and street performing for a living. As a traveling busker, he accompanied many acts from New Orleans to the Pacific Northwest and everywhere in between and eventually met Sparrow and formed the Resonant Rogues.

Support Act

Danny Bradley

Danny Bradley performed his first gig at the age of four when he sang a song about a tree to his kindergarten class. Despite extensive heckling, he decided to pursue a career in music.

A blues-folk musician, a multi-instrumentalist, and a singer-songwriter, Danny has performed as a lead singer/guitarist in an acoustic blues-folk trio, a slap bassist in a funk band, a drummer in a rock band and an electric guitarist in an ambient-folk duet. He is currently based in Liverpool and gigs regularly as a solo artist.

Across the U.K., Danny has supported and gigged with touring acts such as Jon Gomm, Edwina Hayes, Mark Morriss, Brooks Williams, Amy Wadge, Pete Riley, Amelia Curran, Astrid Williamson and Jason Feddy as well as international bands The Once, The Amanda Rheume Trio, Derrin Nauendorf, The Paperboys and Callaghan.

Your host for the evening will be Grateful Fred.
