Reopening Times & Services

Sefton Council expects all visitors to Council buildings to maintain existing safety measures. For the Atkinson this includes customers providing NHS Test & Trace details on arrival, observing social distancing guidelines and wearing face coverings throughout the building.

You do not need ‘vaccine passport’ or negative test to attend performances at The Atkinson, however you might wish to take a test in advance of attending in consideration of others and our staff. Find out more here.

Museum, Gallery, Shop & Café
Monday – Saturday. 10am – 4pm.

Box Office
Monday – Saturday. 10am – 2pm.
Open one hour before performance start times.

Southport Library
Monday – Friday. 10am – 4pm.
Saturday. 10am – 2pm.

The Atkinson is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays

Christmas Shutdown
Museum, Gallery, Shop, Café and Southport Library
Close – Thursday 23 December, 4pm.
Open – Tuesday 4 January, 10am.
Cinderella Christmas Pantomime
During the Christmas Shutdown period, The Atkinson is only open for pantomime. Box Office is open one hour before performance start times.
