The Atkinson announces another season of impressive household comedy names for its Autumn Season of events.

The Atkinson is fast establishing itself as one of the North West’s flagship comedy venues. Having had successful shows with stars such as Josh Widdicombe, Seann Walsh and Rich Hall as well as the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club which has showcased established and up and coming comedians such as  Paul Tonkinson, Alun Cochrane , Rob Deering, Justin Moorhouse and many more.

This September The Atkinson features a new season of diverse comedy, starting with the German Comedy Ambassador himself Henning When. He performs hi s new show Henning Knows Bestest on Saturday 26 October as part of Southport Comedy Festival.  A fountain of knowledge Henning is either funny or he confirms his national stereotype. It’s a win win-situation.Wunderbar!

Fresh from his triumph as host of Channel 4′s critically acclaimed entertainment show The Last Leg, Australian funny man Adam Hills returns to the UK with his long overdue and highly anticipated new show Happyism and performs on Friday 22 November.

Happyism will see everyone’s favourite Antipodean comedian take to the stage for a first-class evening of comedy with the usual anecdotes and audience participation all delivered in his refreshingly unique, laid-back style.

On Sunday 22 December treat yourself to a few pre-Christmas laughs with Jeremy Hardy, one of the UK’s foremost and respected stand-up comedians and is best known for his work on Radio 4, notably on News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation.

His live work has included Just 4 Laughs, (Montreal Comedy Festival), the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he won the prestigious Perrier Award and numerous sell out tours of the UK and Ireland.

In addition to these headline shows The Atkinson continues to offer the best in up and coming and established comedy talent at its monthly Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club where, on the first Saturday of every month, the very best live stand-up comes to Southport .The shows consists of 4 top comedians and one of the finest comperes in the comedy business, Damion Larkin.
