Old MacDonald Needs Your Help at The Atkinson

Old MacDonald had a farm E-I-E-I-O.
But Old MacDonald’s animals have gone missing!
Can you help a friendly scientist and his amazing time machine get them back for him?

After the huge success of The Elephants Bridesmaid, The People’s Theatre Company are back with a second hugely entertaining nursery rhyme adventure based on the much loved title Old MacDonald Had A Farm at The Atkinson on Tuesday 11 March, with a schools performance at 1.15pm and a public performance 4.30pm.

This fun filled farmyard tale brings to life all the best loved characters from the original nursery rhyme along with a magical medley of games, giggles and sing along songs including Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes, She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain and of course Old MacDonald Had A Farm. So come and relive the delights of this most charming of tales told with a captivating combination of live action, puppetry and animation by one of the UK’s leading theatre companies.

Emma Lloyd, Marketing & Programme Manager said:
“We are happy to welcome The Peoples Theatre Company back to The Atkinson. Their productions are of high quality and very interactive. This means the audience feel part of the show.”

The public performance at 4.30pm will hopefully attract after-school children and their parents. This is the perfect treat for smaller children after a hard day at school. There will be squash and biscuits available for a light bite, to keep tummies from rumbling before tea time!
Stephen Lee, The People’s Theatre Company’s Artistic Director said: “Our show takes the very best elements of the well known story and presents them in a new and exciting way so there is all the farmyard fun you would expect but also lots of our trademark humour, music and interaction.”
With beautiful puppets, great performances and a set with more than a few surprises this is first class theatre that will delight fans of The PTC’s work as much as those who love the original nursery rhyme.

Old MacDonald Had A Farm is listed as being suitable for ages 4+ but like all PTC shows this really is an experience that adults will love just as much as the little ones.
