The Atkinson’s lunchtime series of classical music continues on Monday 2 February with a 45 minute concert from The Liverpool String Quartet.
Cellist Nick Byrne, well known to Merseyside audiences, brings his friends to Southport to play Mozart and Dvorak.
The beguilingly beautiful quartet “The American” Op.96, was written by Antonin Dvorak in 1893 during his time in the United States. It is one of the most popular string pieces in chamber music repertoire.
Emma Lloyd, The Atkinson’s Marketing & Programme Manager said:
“The lunchtime concert series is a really important part of our programming and something I am really keen to develop.
The Cake and Classical events are a great way for people to come along and hear really beautiful ensembles in a relaxed environment and all the musicians are on hand for a chat and questions.”
The popular 45 minute concerts start at 1pm and include a lovely piece of cake and a cup of tea from The Atkinson’s Bakery at the end.
The Liverpool String Quartet lunchtime concert starts at 1pm and tickets are £10 (including cake and a cup of tea) and are available online at theatkinson.co.uk or by calling The Atkinson Box Office on 01704 533333. You can also purchase your tickets over the counter during The Atkinson’s opening hours.
Please be advised that there is a £2 booking fee for telephone and online sales.
