Merry Hell Return with the Full Band this Summer at The Atkinson

Merry Hell are back at The Atkinson this July and this time they are with their full band!

Merry Hell Acoustic have been a firm favourite as part of the regular Grateful Fred’s Roots and Acoustic Nights at The Atkinson. But they are back and this time they are very much electric!

This is a band founded on the ever evolving Folk tradition – music made by the people and shared by the people. It is a well-established fact that if you see Merry Hell live, you will leave with a big grin on your face. Their music is rousing, joyous, uplifting and totally infectious and probably contagious (in a good way, of course).

Founded in their native North West of England, Merry Hell is an eight-piece folk-rock band with a history, a pedigree and a bright future. In four short years they have risen to become festival favourites, their first two albums finding favour with critics, broadcasters and music fans alike. They are continuing to develop an enviable reputation for the quality of their songwriting, recorded work and live performances.

Rabble rousing folk rock ……’More than just a bit stupendous’  fRoots Magazine

The band was forged in the smouldering embers of 90s Folk/punk band, The Tansads. Following an emotional series of reunion concerts in 2010, its members chose to tread the boards under a new name, ‘Merry Hell’, in order to reflect their new impetus, new hopes and, most importantly, new songs.

Join us for another foot-stomping night! Not to be missed.

Merry Hell perform at The Atkinson on Thursday 14 July  at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14 / £12 concessions . To book please visit or call the Box Office on 01704 533 333.
