Getting gigs and making recordings is only part of the picture, Fatea’s editor, Neil King, will also be running a FREE workshop/Q&A session Making the Most out of Media on how to make the best use of the internet and social media to help get your band noticed and advice on how to approach radio stations, magazines, bloggers etc to maximise awareness. Fatea Editor Neil King said:

To be considered for a BUSK LOVE FOLK slot you will need to send an mp3 of the song that you best feel represents you as an act, plus a short biog and contact phone number to busklovefolk@fatea.co.uk. This year we are bringing out the big guns with headliners Jim Moray and Lindisfarne. So save the date Friday 9 – Saturday 10 February 2018 as this is a party folk fans will not want to miss!

Alongside the headliners we have some great young and upcoming talent in the form of Kadia, Holy Moly & The Crackers, Rob Heron and the Teapad Orchestra, Rachel Newton Trio and Andy May Trio.

Emma Lloyd, The Atkinson’s Principle Manager: Programmes; Audience Development & Enterprise said:

“Love Folk Festival is a great weekend and audiences really get to know each other and the team here at the venue. We have started to build a reputation for our music festivals and we hope this year it is supported as well as last year!

Building a new folk audience and supporting new artists is important to us and this is one of the ways we are able to play a part.

The acts will be selling their CD’s so if you like something you hear, you can take a bit of #Love Folk home with you. It’s a great chance to have a look round the venue, grab a coffee and a piece of cake from our Bakery and take advantage of great FREE music!”
