My Life in and out of Squeeze – The Acoustic Book Tour
This March Chris Difford, co–founder and member of one of London’s best-loved bands, the Squeeze brings his very special acoustic book tour Some Fantastic Place to The Atkinson.
Chris has made a lasting contribution to English music with hits such as ‘Cool for Cats’, ‘Up the Junction’, ‘Labelled With Love’, ‘Hourglass’ and ‘Tempted’.
Squeeze remained Chris’s main focus in 2017, with a release of a new album called ‘The Knowledge’. A UK and US tour followed and they played sold out shows to rave reviews everywhere they went. 2017 saw Chris perform 96 shows, the most exhausting of years but the most rewarding on so many levels.
2018 sees him back on tour with his special guest Boo Hewerdine on his extensive ‘Some Fantastic Acoustic Book Tour’
Beyond the touring there is a paperback version of the book coming out in September with an extra chapter carefully composed for the end of the book. Chris in his spare time will be co-writing and working on various projects, another busy year for the old chap.
He has helped soundtrack so many fans’ lives since his first release in 1977 and this evening of intimate live music and stories will entertain fans young and old.
The book is available to buy on the night and signed by the man himself!
Tickets are £18. You can book your tickets online at theatkinson.co.uk or via Box Office on 01704 533333.

About The Atkinson
The Atkinson is Southport’s beautiful home for music, theatre, art, poetry, literature and history, right in the middle of Lord Street in Southport. The stunning 19th century buildings were refurbished in 2013 to create a really welcoming family friendly multi art-form venue with a strong contemporary feel.
The Atkinson offers an exciting and varied destination for families, cultural tourists and arts enthusiasts alike, with a full day and night time offer. Wander through the major exhibitions and see performances from some of the UK’s foremost musicians, actors, performers and companies, films, family activities and much more.
Find out about Sefton’s heritage with amazing tales of the sea, Red Rum, Dan Dare and Motor racing in the Museum and then ‘Discover Ancient Egypt’ in our Egyptology Gallery, this remarkable collection of archaeology was discovered by Mrs Goodison from Bootle and until 2015 had not been seen for over 40 years.
Our lovely gift shop is well worth a visit, with its handmade in Merseyside jewellery and crafts collection and Southport memorabilia and then relax in our new café – Great Little Place.
