Three USA acts take part in an evening of Country and Americana music at The Atkinson this April.
Representing the best in singer songwriters and in association with Fish Records, are artists Jess Klein, Michael Logen and Blue County.
Jess Clein’s career spans more than a decade and a half, she is known for her eloquently melodic, effortlessly accessible song craft.
The Rochester, NY native who now calls Hillsborough, NC her home began writing songs as a college student in Kingston, Jamaica, and is known for staking out brave lyrical and musical territory, including the album Learning Faith (2014) which Folk Radio UK calls “Unquestionably the finest album of her impressive career”.
Jess’s live, full band album captures the dynamism of Jess onstage, backed by some of Austin’s top players. Jess was named a 2015 Finalist in the highly regarded Kerrville New Folk Competition.
Americana/Folk artist Michael Logen is based in Nashville, Tennessee. His stunning sophomore album, New Medicine, has garnered 6 TV placements so far and includes Michael’s original, acoustic version of a song he wrote with Jennifer Hanson, called Breaking Your Own Heart, which was covered by Kelly Clarkson on her Platinum-Selling, Grammy-Winning album, Stronger.
Michael’s songs have been featured on many TV shows including multiple placements on Nashville, Suits, Parenthood, The Fosters and One Tree Hill. Michael’s songs have been recorded by many other artists including Jonny Lang, Kelly Clarkson, Mat Kearney, Brandon Heath, The Greencards, Paul Carrack, Will Hoge and Sister Hazel.
Lastly we welcome back Blue County, whose Billboard Country hits include the iconic single Good Little Girls and That’s Cool. They received three Country Music Award and Academy of Country Music award nominations over a 5-year period for Duo of the Year (losing to Brooks & Dunn each time) and toured extensively with Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. They were invited to be a two-time featured artist in the Chevrolet/Conde Naste Fashion Rocks campaign in People Magazine.
Blue County are Aaron Benward (Nashville Unplugged) and Scott Reeves (currently on CMT’s Nashville and former star of General Hospital and Young & The Restless).
