To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the classic live album Bitter Suite, Hue and Cry will be taking to the road for some very special stripped back shows in 2019.

Bitter Suite, released in 1989, was Hue and Cry’s third album and the band’s first live album, following the critical acclaim and chart success of their debut album Seduced and Abandoned and follow up Remote. Bitter Suite features a beautiful acoustic version of classic Hue and Cry hit Looking For Linda, along with their much loved cover of Michael Marra’s seminal Mother Glasgow.

For these special Bitter Suite 30th Anniversary Shows, the brothers will be celebrating the songs from Bitter Suite as well as all the Hue and Cry hits and classics in a stripped back style.

About Hue and Cry

Brothers Patrick and Gregory Kane formed Hue and Cry in 1983 and the duo made a huge impact in the late 80’s with the albums ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ and ‘Remote’ as well as massive hit singles such as ‘Labour of Love.’ Albums like ‘Stars Crash Down’ and ‘Jazz Not Jazz’ ensured Hue and Cry’s continued triumph in the 1990’s, whilst the release of the hugely applauded ‘Open Soul’ in 2008 brought them firmly back into the limelight. The release of their seasonal album ‘Xmasday’ (2009) and live album ‘Bitter Suite Again’ (2010), preceded the release of ‘Hot Wire’ (2012) which received rave reviews. To date Hue and Cry have sold in excess of two million records worldwide.

The band have sold tens of thousands of concert tickets worldwide, as well as performing alongside some of the greatest artists in music history, appearing with U2, James Brown, Madonna, Al Green and Van Morrison to name but a few. The duo was recognised by their peers when they were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Scottish Music Awards.
