On the first Saturday of every month the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club offer a raucous evening of entertainment, bringing the best live stand-up to Southport! This month we welcome comedians Duncan Oakley, Susie Mccabe and Pete Phillipson.
Duncan Oakley
Duncan Oakley has musical skills that would easily fit into many rock bands and performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up that has seen him become one of the leading headliners in the business. With an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face three days later, confused and wondering where it’s come from. Duncan has performed for nearly 10 years on the UK and international stand up circuit and an easy confidence and good natured banter make him a regular at all the best venues. Lesser musical comedians hide behind their guitars and use them as a shield but his is definitely a sword as audiences who have been slain with laughter will gladly testify!

Susie Mccabe
Susie Mccabe’s rise through the ranks of Scottish stand up has been nothing short of meteoric. her brilliant storytelling, acute observations and killer punchlines have made her one of most sought after performers in the UK. Susie can regularly be found compering and headlining at top comedy clubs all over Scotland such as The Stand and Jongleurs. Susie has also supported the likes of Ardal O’Hanlon, Zoe Lyons and Stewart Francis on his national tour. A firm festival favourite, Susie has completed 2 hugely successful solo runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and has 4 sell out shows at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival (gicf) under her belt. Susie was the was the first performer in 2017 to sell out, making her one of the fastest selling acts in the event’s history. she has been tipped as one to watch, so don’t miss this chance to catch her on her first ever Scottish tour!

Pete Phillipson
Originally from Lincolnshire, Manchester based Pete Phillipson is a fantastically funny act over the last few years, mixing fast paced observations and routines with wonderful characterisations.Pete is able to command an audience as well as he commands a variety of accents, wearing his comedy heart on his sleeve and leaving the audience in hysterics at his misfortunes and frustrations with the minutiae of everyday life. Off stage, you can listen to Pete on Fab Radio International where he performs the weekly radio show “Bad Nostalgia” with fellow comedian Lewis Charlesworth.

Hosted by comedian Damion Larkin, who will often improvise his entire set to hilarious effect. There are no genuine comparisons to this man. He is a versatile and creative comedian who always leaves audiences wanting more.
