We are seeking to recruit a Technical Manager to lead on the technical requirements for all productions and events delivered in our Theatre & Studio spaces.  This is a crucial role, not only in terms of back-of-house management but also in developing professional relationships and upholding the reputation of the venue.

You will have experience of working at a senior technical level within a theatre and multi-venue arts environment, including staff management.Technical expertise should include the operation of theatrical electrical systems, lighting technology, electrical safety and sound engineering including operating modern sounds systems for theatre and live music.A comprehensive understanding of industry compliance and risk management in a performing arts setting is essential to the role, as is the ability to deliver first-line maintenance to theatre equipment and facilities. You will oversee the programme of routine technical repairs and be expected to provide essential and responsive support for performance spaces, helping to bring down maintenance and energy costs. You will be responsible for upholding health and safety standards.

The post-holder will be expected to provide practical hands-on assistance with stage preparation and performance delivery as well as supporting the wider venue as required.You will be committed to increasing engagement with culture and the performing arts so that The Atkinson maintains its status as a dynamic and evolving regional venue for arts, heritage, literature and information.

Centre Assistant – Southport Library

Salary: Grade D (5-6) £21,575 – £21,968 (Pay award pending)

Hours: 18 hours per week.

Outline of main duties:
To deliver the highest standards of customer service in delivering a friendly and efficient library, visitor and information service.
To support the safe and efficient operation of the designated library service.

Job requirements:
Maintain a high-quality, efficient, courteous and helpful standard of library service for all users.  Contribute effectively to borough wide and national Libraries’ reader development initiatives, and to the overall development of the service, including service planning.
To respond to enquiries about The Atkinson’s programmes, local Tourism, heritage and provide information about Southport as a destination.
To maintain current databases, whilst ensuring customer information is captured in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and GDPR Regulations, and to adhere to all Sefton Council Data Protection Policies.To undertake all appropriate reporting, administrative and financial routines and maintain all records to comply with designated requirements, including library and other stock management procedures.
To support delivery of all relevant initiatives for customers, communities, schools, and outside partners.
To contribute to seamless working relationships with other Centre Assistants, across the Public Engagement team and other teams within the Atkinson, including volunteers and placements.
To contribute to The Atkinson’s ‘Green’ strategy including policies on recycling, reduction in energy and water consumption, green transport.
To comply with all organisational policies and procedures, with specific reference to Health & Safety at all times.
To maintain service awareness and personal development for self and others, as appropriate, including attending training as required.

Experience/Skills/Abilities:
An enthusiastic and outgoing personality with good inter-personal skills.
Possess the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation and with the wider community.
Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to resolve issues in a calm and courteous manner.
A good general knowledge of the local and regional area, including visitor attractions.
An effective team worker with the ability to be self-reliant, able to use your own initiative whilst under pressure.
Ability to carry out admin and financial routines to the designated standard.
Effective use of ICT for personal use and service delivery.
Ability to support and deliver activities e.g. story and rhyme time/displays.
Dealing with change for self and others.
