Spotlight Talk: Andrew Webster Kiddie: The man and his miniature models – With Volunteer Mo
Share:

Our brilliant volunteer team are a passionate bunch! They love the arts and are dedicated to making The Atkinson a vibrant and welcoming space for everyone. They love learning about and sharing history, art, and culture with the public.

We have asked our team of volunteers to identify their favourite painting or object from our collection.

This talk will be delivered by Mo, one of our very knowledgeable volunteers who can frequently be found supporting our schools programme, delivering tours around the building and running our monthly Construction Club in the Children’s Library. Mo has volunteered with The Atkinson for nine years and is interested in local history and delights in miniatures.

The fascinating miniature models in our collection were created by local man Andrew Kiddie was the founder of the Southport joinery and shopfitting company that still bears his name.  We will talk about the man and the models of buildings he created which tell a story of Southport history and the local legends that lived in them.

Due to limited space in our Museum this short Spotlight Talk will be delivered in an informal style to a standing audience (a few seats can be made available for those who need them).
