This talk is perfect for those who have a need for speed! Join us in our galleries as we celebrate the significance of Bluebird K7; the pioneers of speed!

The talk begins with a review of the World Water Speed Records achieved in the 1920’s and 1930’s before delving into the inspiring exploits of British speed record breaker Donald Campbell and Bluebird.

During the 1950’s and 60’s, Campbell & Bluebell raised the World Water Speed Record to 276mph. Campbell tragically lost his life in in 1967 during a water speed record attempt at Coniston Water in the Lake District. In 2001 Bluebird was recovered from the bed of Coniston Water and subsequently underwent a painstaking rebuild on Tyneside.
