Lord Street (1830) by Mrs Fairfield

A painting of Lord Street recently came to light as staff were researching the collections in preparation or the opening of the new museum. A work by an amateur artist it may well be the earliest original view of Southport, when the town was a little more than a street of houses set between sand dunes.  Join documentation officer Jo Chamberlain, for a preview of some of The Atkinson’s  unseen painting and photographers.
