Captain Pugwash & Friends: Pirate Day
Share:

Ahoy there!

This October half term we are inviting all salty sea dogs into The Atkinson to join our Pirate Day adventures. On Saturday 23 October, we are hosting a range of fun activities for scallywags of all ages!

The dastardly Captain Gatling is bringing his plethora of magic, mind bending trickery and juggling skills to our shores. Watch as the Captain performs his tricks learnt from years on the high seas, takes on daring challenges and shares his rarest treasures with you. Be sure to say ahoy when he is exploring The Atkinson and ask to see some of his amazing close-up miracles.

It will be all hands-on deck as we set off on a hunt for buried treasure, so gather your crew to discover what is hidden across The Atkinson.

Don’t forget to arrive in your best pirate costume as we will be rewarding the most swashbuckling shipmates with a handsome bounty after a Pirate Parade.

Our Pirate Day is a celebration of the ‘Captain Pugwash & Friends’ exhibition currently on display at The Atkinson. Captain Pugwash and his arch-enemy Cut-Throat Jake first crossed swords in the earliest editions of the Eagle magazine when it was being written and illustrated in a small studio in Churchtown. Be sure to visit our exhibition to best prepare your sea legs for our half term activities.

So put on your eyepatch, warm up your mightiest ARRRRGH and prepare to board.
