Southport Explorers: Family heritage walk
Meet outside The Atkinson, Lord Street, Southport, Merseyside, PR8 1DB
Join our lead explorer for a tramp round Southport in search of hidden history. We’re not expecting anything more dangerous than crossing the road, but we can guarantee lions, heroes and even frogs!
This guided exploration for families with children aged around 7-11 years is centred on Lord Street and the Promenade. Explorers will record their discoveries along the way and – if they accomplish the mission – will receive a small reward from the expedition leader.

Access
The route is under 2 miles long, and follows pavements and safe crossing-points throughout, with no steps. Some clues are on buildings above eye level or at a distance. Lord Street can be busy and noisy, and we will cross roads on several occasions. If your family group has any particular needs, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate them.
COVID-19 Considerations
This event will run in line with local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival. The event is outdoors throughout. Please maintain social distancing between family groups. We will use hand sanitiser and ensure any handling items are sanitised. Bring your own pens or pencils if you wish.
Additional Information
Max 20 people per tour/session.
Tour takes up to 2 hours.
Children must be accompanied by at least one adult, who is responsible for their safety and wellbeing at all times. If you have younger children, they are welcome to come along, but must be in the charge of another adult.
