Southport Snapshots:
Local History with Dr Tom Preston
Southport Snapshots, the series of popular local history sessions continues, this time, via online workshops using the free video communications platform Zoom.
We will be looking at aspects of Southport’s history, including fishermen’s cottages, Little Ireland, Vulcan Cars, and Hesketh Park Aerodrome, amongst others.
To take part in the Zoom meeting you will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet, an email address and an internet connection.
The first session on Monday 14 September is free.
The following sessions are £3.
Please note: Dr Tom Preston is delivering Southport Snapshots online, direct to participants on behalf of The Atkinson. Participant email address will be shared securely with Dr Tom Preston for him to facilitate the Zoom meeting.

Zoom
Joining a Zoom meeting is quick and easy!
Before each workshop, you will receive an email invitation to join a Zoom meeting. On the morning of the workshop, open your email invitation and click the ‘join Zoom meeting’ link. You will then be prompted to either ‘download & run Zoom’ or ‘launch from your browser’. If the host has not yet started the meeting, a message will appear and you will be ‘let in’ when the host starts the meeting. If the host has already started the meeting you will automatically join the group. You are not required to have/turn on your own video and audio, unless you wish to do so.
