The Human Body in Ancient Greek Sculpture

The depiction of the human body in Greek sculpture changed strikingly between the 8th century and 2nd century BCE. Topics in this talk include the changes in images of males and females during the Archaic period, the ‘ideal nude’ of the Late Classical period and the introduction of new ways of representation, reflecting human diversity, during the Hellenistic period.
