Part of the Ancient World’s Society

The Atkinson’s Ancient World Society meets on a Tuesday evening. Meetings start with an opportunity for Society Members and visitors to take advantage of the bar facilities and to share their interest in the ancient world with other like-minded people. Then comes the focus of each meeting – an illustrated presentation given by a leading authority on ancient history, during which they will share the latest findings of their research. In addition to the monthly evening meetings, the Society will also hold a number of themed day schools and workshops as well as organising trips to other museums or sites of interest.

Whether your fascination is with far flung ancient empires or you want to know more about the Vikings in Formby, there will be something for you as a member of the Atkinson Ancient Worlds Society. Annual membership costs £50 which includes 10 meetings a year plus the day schools and trips.

If you don’t wish to become a member, you can still attend the evening meetings as a visitor for £5 on the door. The cost of visitor entry to day schools will differ for each event. Society Members will be given priority booking for the various trips that are organised

Memberships are £50 for the year.
