Discover the next generation of artists in our Sefton Young Artist of The Year competition.
The Atkinson in partnership with The Arts Society Southport invited Young Artists aged 11-18 living in the Sefton Borough to submit one photograph of an original artwork to the competition, exhibited on The Atkinson’s website.
With over 120 entries received, the competition showcases the emerging talent in Sefton across a variety of artistic practices.
The competition winners were announced on Thursday 28 May and awarded prizes donated by The Arts Society Southport.
Jemma Tynan, Exhibitions and Learning Officer, The Atkinson
‘A huge congratulations to all the young artists who sent in their artwork for The Young Artist of The Year Competition. Their creativity and talent challenged the judges and they took many things into consideration to decide the winners and commended works. Thank you to The Art Society Southport for their sponsorship and support.’
Beatrice McIntosh, Arts Society Southport
‘I was very impressed with the variety and sheer scale of entries in this first digital competition. It is part of our remit to encourage creativity and young arts to flourish and we are very happy to be involved in supporting this Competition and thank The Atkinson for providing the platform for this event.’
