The Atkinson is delighted to welcome Ballet UK’s critically acclaimed festive classic The Nutcracker to the venue this Christmas.
On Thursday 12 December this new production of Tchaikovsky’s most loved and unforgettable music score combined with magical choreography by Artistic Director, Christopher Moore, and featuring over 80 new exquisite costumes and breath taking scenery – together creates an atmosphere of fantasy and illusion.
It is an enchanting adventure beautifully told through the magic of dance, delighting audiences young and old.
The Nutcracker Features such favourites as The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, The Waltz of the Flowers, The Russian Trepak, The Dance of the Reed pipes and the world famous Waltz of the Snowflakes, to name but a few.

If you are a real fan of ballet then you may like to know that Ballet UK return next season with a dramatic re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s all-time favourite story of The Little Mermaid on Saturday 26 April at 6pm, who falls in love with a human Prince and gives up everything to win his love. The kind hearted Little Mermaid rescues the Prince during a storm at sea, and begins a journey that takes her far from her home beneath the waves. Determined to pursue her love on to the shore she makes a bargain with an evil Sea Witch, but it comes at a heavy price. Tickets are £15 adult (£12 child / Family £45), Parties 10+ tickets £10 each.
