The Perfect Christmas Treat For Your Little Bears!

The Perfect Christmas Treat For Your Little Bears!

It’s Christmas Eve and Little Bear can’t wait to see Santa!

“Santa will come just as soon as you go to sleep,” Mummy Bear says. But Little Bear doesn’t want to go to sleep. He wants to see Santa!

Suddenly… glug, glug, glug, glug! What’s that noise? There’s someone downstairs…

Will Little Bear really get to see Santa…?

Packed full of family fun and festive excitement, Blunderbus Theatre Company will be showcasing their brand new show I’ve seen Santa at The Atkinson on Sunday 8 December at 2.30pm.

This delightful show comes to life with an irresistible blend of music, puppetry and high energy storytelling. There’s plenty of fun along the way, with a very special appearance from Santa himself!

Established in 1998, the magical minds at Blunderbus have been creating enchanting theatrical experiences and providing lasting memories for children and their families all around the world.  They perform for over 200,000 children each year, touring to theatres, arts centres, schools and festivals across the UK and to the exotic climes of Malaysia, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore with critically acclaimed shows such as “How to Catch a Star”, “The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark” and Giraffes Can’t Dance”.

The talented team behind Blunderbus lovingly design and handcraft every single puppet, prop and piece of scenery on-site at their company base in the heart of Sherwood Forest.  Their dedication and love for their craft ensures that each show is wonderfully unique and brings children’s imagination to life.

About The Atkinson

The Atkinson is a key transformational project, enhancing Southport’s offer of ‘England’s Classic Resort’. It is a £17 million development, due to open in Spring 2013. It involves the integration of three Arts & Cultural managed venues, Southport Arts Centre, the Atkinson Art Gallery and Botanic Gardens Museum alongside the Southport central Library, into one regional cultural centre. Sefton Council, North West Development Agency, Arts Council England and Sea Change funded the Atkinson project. A funding application has also been submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the fit out of the museum areas to feature within the Cultural Centre.

The Atkinson will deliver high quality arts and cultural entertainment from dance and drama to fine art and music, whilst supporting community art groups with their development and performances.

Set in a grade II listed building in the centre of Lord Street, the principal shopping avenue in Southport, which extends the length of the town. It will act as a focal point for the town centre and will add to the food and beverage offer and the Lord Street retail offer to make a complete visitor experience.
