A Tribute to the Music of the Housemartins and Beautiful South

A Tribute to the Music of the Housemartins and Beautiful South

Paul Heaton himself said “they’re really good” so with such praise how can you now want to see The Southmartins perform at The Atkinson on Friday 2 February?

They have carved themselves a unique niche in the tribute world. Playing fast and loose with the many hits of The Beautiful South and The Housemartins (Happy Hour, Perfect 10, Don’t Marry Her, Rotterdam, Caravan of Love and much more), very much making many of the songs their own and involving the audience along the way makes for a special kind of night.

With a lead singer possessing a voice that is as close to the man himself as you could wish for and a band of superb musicians yet not satisfied with mere imitation or attempting to “recreate” anything  The Southmartins are a tribute in the true sense. They present a fully formed, original and often unpredictable show each time that keeps the spirit and “twinkle in the eye” of Mr Heaton and co intact.

Having toured across the UK constantly since forming in 2010 they continue to build their reputation as the leading tribute to these bands. With tours of O2 Academies and other prestigious music venues now a regular fixture of their schedule and only limited dates available it’s a case of “catch them when you can” with many returning to repeat gigs and following them across the country.

The Southmartins are at The Atkinson on Friday 2 February tickets  are £13 / £15 balcony.  You can book your tickets online at theatkinson.co.uk or via Box Office on 01704 533333.
