Runaways. Fairies. Goblins. Water pistols?!?! Oh yes, Shakespeare’s been “Rubbished”.

Following last year’s five-star smash-hit, Romeo and Juliet, the Rubbish Shakespeare Company are back. Their aim: to stage the greatest production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream ever seen. Will they succeed? No, but they will fail spectacularly, for an hour, for your enjoyment.

Featuring high-octane slapstick action, mischievous storytelling and belly laughs galore; expect a trail of wigs, bubble guns, cardboard cutouts and a frankly pitiful attempt at roller skating.

Perfect as an introduction to Shakespeare or as a rollicking family treat. Your kids will love it; so will you!

Ages 4 – 104!

What audiences think of the Rubbish Shakespeare Company:

“Extremely silly and energetic but a treat for kids and also for the grown ups!”

“A wee bit of audience participation plus silliness kept the kids interested and the adults loved it too. Amazing how much Shakespearean language you can retain in an adaptation suitable for small children.”

“Fantastic knockabout fun from some excellent entertainers”

About The Rubbish Shakespeare Company

The Rubbish Shakespeare Company (RubSC) are a children’s and family-friendly theatre company, with roots in Creative Education. Founded by three LJMU graduates in 2007, RubSC’s mission is to make Shakespeare For All. Their goal: for the Bard’s work to be accessible to everyone, regardless of background. As for those who’ve had negative formative experiences with Shakespeare, RubSC want to show Shakespeare is not, in fact, rubbish!
