Curves, Colours & Cool: An Introduction to Mid-Century Moderns with Mark Hill

Monday 23 September, 6pm

Calling all Antiques Roadshow fans and people interested in collecting, buying and selling Antiques as The Arts Society begin a new lecture series on Monday 23 September, 6pm at The Atkinson in Southport.

Welcoming antique expert Mark Hill, the topic for the evening is Curves, Colours & Cool: An Introduction to Mid-Century Moderns.  Mark Hill, British antiques expert, TV presenter, author and publisher brings his expertise to describe how the antiques market has changed dramatically and now pieces that were made during the 1970s can fetch many times more than a piece made in the 1770s.

This practical and inspirational lecture looks at furniture, ceramics, glass, lighting and metalware, identifies key designs and designers, and the examines the revolutionary design movements they began.

Hosted by The Art Society, tickets are £7 and include a glass of wine. You will be welcomed in the Galleries by Beatrice McIntosh from The Arts Society. The Arts Society is a leading art education charity, which brings people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.
