Talk by: Tom Hughes, Interpretation Officer, Norton Priory Museum and Gardens
Norton Priory is Europe’s most excavated monastery with nine centuries of stories to tell. A new world class museum opens at the site in August 2016, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Tom Hughes has been preparing the interpretation for the site and will be giving a taster of what’s in store, including a look at the latest scientific research into the medieval skeletons and displaying Britain’s finest medieval stone statue. Expect tales of medieval murder, Tudor intrigue, and Georgian splendour along the way in this engaging presentation.
