Spring in the Air.

Beethoven’s “Spring” Sonata, published in 1801 is amongst the most melodic of his compositions. In common with several other works, the pastoral character of the music conveys Beethoven’s love of the countryside and the natural world.
The programme also includes the Sonatina by Dvorak, written in 1893 at the end of his three year sojourn in the United States. Composed with his prodigious children in mind the music abounds with youthful exuberance.

The Atkinson is working in partnership with L’Orchestra dell’ Arte to bring high quality, accessible classical music to Southport.
