About the groups.

The ‘Erks:

The ‘Erks (England’s Exiles) are a RAF Living History Reenactment group depicting only Groundcrew.
The unsung heroes of the RAF during WW2.
They are the Men & Women from all corners of the world who came to fight for King & Country against the Tyrany of Hitler.

They are always recruiting Men & Women to portray Commonwealth , Displaced Persons or Foreign Nationals who carried on the fight for our group.

Merseyside Polonia:

Merseyside Polonia is the most recognised Polish not for profit organisation in the Northwest of England.
It was established in 2009 as a charitable organisation. The organisation is based in Liverpool but the project and events often involve communities from other boroughs on both sides of the River Mersey.
In the past few years, Merseyside Polonia has built up strong links with local authorities and services, arts and community organisations as well as other institutions and founders.
The organisation was registered on 9th of June 2009 and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
Main objects of the organisation are:

  • to raise awareness of the Polish Community and culture among the local community
  • to support community development of Polish and other communities
  • to build community cohesion by increasing understanding between communities representing different cultural backgrounds

Remember. Inspire. Unity.
Pamiętamy. Inspirujemy. Zjednoczeni.

On 11th November 2019 the Polish Heritage Flight was formed.

As part of the Historic Aircraft Collection based at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, the project aims of The Polish Heritage Flight is to bring to life the stories of the people that came to the ‘island of last hope’ to take up the fight from Britain and throughout the Second World War. Their ethos is to tell the story of all aspects of the Polish Story.

The Polish Heritage Flight fly in tribute to not only Fighter Command, but also Bomber Command, Costal Command and all those that served in all the Services and Conflicts.

Through objects, stories and images learn a little more about those who once gave themselves for our freedom.
