We have asked our team of volunteers to identify their favourite painting or object from our collection.
Learn more about The Children’s Prayer by Arthur Hacker with volunteer Matthew on Friday 23 February 11am.
This oil on canvas painting was completed by Hacker in 1888. Hacker presents an image of a hardworking and religious family. Hacker was mostly known for painting religious scenes and portraits. We are proud to have such a beautiful example of his work in our collection.
Matthew has been volunteering at The Atkinson for over 18 months and enjoys spending time in our Museum and welcoming visitors in our Foyer. We asked Matthew about his hobbies and interests and were impressed with his response: skydiving, reading, Ancient History, watching films, cycling and swimming.
