We are delighted to be the only North West venue to be hosting the Viking: Rediscover the Legend exhibition in 2018. The most significant Viking treasure hoards ever discovered in Britain will be on display together for the first time in Southport this April!

Star objects from the British Museum will feature alongside the Yorkshire Museum’s world-class collections and will be interpreted in new ways to give a fresh perspective on how Vikings shaped every aspect of their lives in Britain. Also included will be one of the most famous Viking collections in the UK, including the Vale of York Viking Hoard, Cuerdale Hoard and the Bedale Hoard.

The exhibition features groundbreaking research by archaeologists and exciting new discoveries by metal-detectors that will challenge your perceptions on what it would have been like to live as a Viking.

Join us on Saturday 7 July (the last day of the exhibition) for a Viking celebration with events for all the family.

Opening at Yorkshire Museum and then touring to the University of Nottingham, The Atkinson in Southport and Norwich Castle Museum, from May 2017 until September 2019.

Please note your ticket is valid for the date stated, entry can be anytime between 10am* and 4pm (last entry is 3pm)

*except Bank Holiday Monday entry is after 11am
