Join art historian Dr Anna Maddison as she looks at the portrait of our very own William Atkinson.

The artist, Lowes Cato Dickinson, taught drawing with John Ruskin and Dante Gabriel Rossetti and was a founder of the Working Men’s College in London.

Amongst the subjects for his portraits included Queen Victoria, the Prime Minister and his cabinet, George Eliot, and scientists such as Arthur Cayley
