The Landing: The Palette Club Invitation Exhibition

30 September – 11 November 2023

The Council of The Southport Palette Club are pleased to be holding their fifth Invitation Exhibition on The Landing at The Atkinson. All artists are local to Sefton.

The Atkinson’s annual Sefton Open exhibition is supported by their longstanding partner, The Southport Palette Club. The Palette Club was formed in 1921 by a group of artists, including Percy Lancaster and Philip Connard RA. Their sole intention was to promote an annual exhibition. The bond between The Atkinson Gallery and the Palette Club was formed at this time when H.P. Hugill, curator of the Gallery, became the first Chairman of the group.

The Sefton Open is hosted at The Atkinson every Spring followed by a Landing Gallery exhibition for The Southport Palette Club artists in the Autumn. This fifth Invitation Exhibition presents artists who were selected to display work through The Palette Club in the 2023 Sefton Open.
