A short spotlight tour of the Victoria Dreamer’s exhibition with a focus on Lillith by John Collier.
Spotlight Tour: Fortunino Matania and Frank Hampson 1pm – 1.30pm
A short tour focussing on the life and work of Fortunino Matania as illustrated by the painting Southport for a Holiday in Wintertime and related museum display cases. Followed by a short tour focussing on the life and work of Frank Hampson as illustrated in the museum display cases.
Friday 9 September
Mrs Goodison’s Collection: Egyptology gallery, 11am -12pm
A review of the display cases in the Egyptology gallery based on the themes of beauty, communication, everyday life and ritual.
Between Land and Sea, 1pm
A review of the display cases in the first museum gallery tracing the chronological development of Southport as a health and tourist resort and cases in the second museum gallery relating to notable events, characters and industry of Sefton.
Saturday 10 September
Clues in the Architecture, 11am
A tour of The Atkinson, both outside and inside, to see the architectural details of the three buildings which make up The Atkinson and reveal their previous purposes.
Lord Street, 1pm
Heritage walk outside along Lord Street.
Heritage Day Special at Wayfarers Arcade
A unique opportunity to attend a tour of the arcade with a knowledgeable guide who will bring Wayfarers to life. You will learn about the architecture, the people and the history of the arcade since Victorian times. Places are very limited and booking is essential.

Head over to Beales whilst you’re here and see their window display, with our collection images looking at the Marine Bathing Lake. Images from Unseen Southport can be seen in their cafe.
