Curious Minds and The Atkinson, Southport are looking for a creative and motivated young person aged 18 – 25 to help with the planning and development of a fundraising pack to promote our collection to potential supporters. We would love to hear from people who feel they are ready for a new challenge and have an interest in gaining a unique work experience opportunity.

Hours: 1 day per week (6 hours per day) for 6 months
Salary: £9.50 per hour (as per our commitment to livingwage.org.uk)
Contract: Fixed term, six-month contract, April –September 2021 (with flexibility)
Dates to note: Closing date – 5pm, Thursday 11 March 2021
Interviews: 24 April 2021 via Zoom 


Overview

During this six-month placement, the Fundraising and Communications Assistant will develop a unique “Adopt the Collection” fundraising pack.

This fantastic opportunity is an exciting, newly created role where the successful candidate will work closely with our collections team, marketing team and our Charitable Trust. They will gain valuable and practical experience while utilising their own skills to create a new resource and will gain experience in leading on a project through from inception and creation through to delivery.

This placement will be critical in helping us to develop a new resource.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Creating an exciting new resource to encourage supporters to engage with our collections
  • Working collaboratively with staff in our museum, our marketing team and our charitable trust to deliver a project which will be used to generate income
  • Presenting our collections (art and artefacts), through creative photography, eye-catching graphics via a clear marketing campaign on social media
