A Decade of Discovery and Delight

Ten years ago, a beacon of arts, culture, and heritage opened its doors in the heart of Southport. The Atkinson, named after local philanthropist and benefactor Lord Atkinson, emerged as a vibrant hub for learning, inspiration, and community engagement.

28 November 2023 marks a decade since The Atkinson reopened its doors after undergoing a multi-million-pound restoration. In the past ten years, we’ve hosted over 3,000 events, sold more than 440,000 tickets, issued over one million books, and served over 38,000 ice creams!
