A Hayward Touring and Arts Council Collection exhibition, curated by Jennifer Higgie

This exhibition reflects a personal view of a period of radical change in art, from Jennifer Higgie, co-editor of frieze magazine. One Day, Something Happens: Paintings of People looks at the everyday theatricality of the body and includes a selection of 20th century paintings by acclaimed artists such as Walter Sickert, Lucian Freud, David Hockney, Paula Rego and Richard Hamilton. The Arts Council Collection’s more recent acquisitions are also represented with paintings by Michael Fullerton, Rose Wylie and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
