Symbolism and Intent: The Principles of Egyptian Art

Egyptian art was embedded with symbolism, often created with the intent of magically turning representations into reality. This day school will examine the techniques and themes employed by Egyptian artists. The development of a distinctive style over time will be outlined, with a focus on objects in the Goodison collection.

There will be a strong focus upon artefacts in the Goodison collection currently on display in  Discover Ancient Egypt.

This course is run by Jo Backhouse who is  a PHD student at Liverpool University, studying Egyptology.

Please note there is a maximum of 20 people on this workshop.
