KidsFest 2017

Saturday 21 – Saturday 28 October

This October half term the annual family fun fuelled festival returns and is bigger and better than ever.

Show times: 1pm & 2.30pm

An interactive solo dance work using Kinect One motion sensor to control projected imagery

Darren Pritchard has been creating dance works for traditional and non-traditional theatre settings for ten years, making and performing in galleries, a church, hotels and both urban and rural landscapes, even in the old Sale of the Century TV studio.

As Company Fierce he was best known for Susan and Darren, in which Darren performed alongside his mother. The show toured internationally. He is also known for Gulliver’s Boom Box with Walk the Plank; plus, to date, 5 outings for One, a solo performance installation and Duet to Music made for Urban Moves.

Body of Light is his latest work, and is the first under Darren’s new company Darren Pritchard Dance. It is a thirty minute contemporary dance solo performed by Adam Russell which uses readily available consumer technology to translate movement into beautiful projected imagery, in much the same as a painter uses brushstrokes.

“I think you did it brilliantly, I’m not a technology lover and you got me excited!!”Audience member

“I thought the effects were beautiful; I can see so much potential for our patients and their families.” – Vicky Charnock, Alderhey Hospital

Supported by Arts council England STUN, hÅb, Guernsey Arts Commission, Dance Manchester

This is a 30 minute performance followed by 30 minute stay and play.
